Event Description |
SCARCE (School and Community Assistance for Recycling & Composting Education) is dedicated to educating people to conserve natural resources and energy, prevent pollution, reduce waste, recycle, and compost organic materials. Through that endeavor, they have established the Book Rescue Center and the Tools For Schools programs to rescue books and other educationally-related materials and provide them to those in need.

Dress: This is similar to a warehouse facility so dress in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. In cooler months you might want to wear a sweatshirt until you get moving and the facility warms up. |
Additional Description |
We will be participating in the Scarce Super Crayon Project. The Super Crayon project diverts broken, unusable crayons from going to the landfill. SCARCE recycles crayon pieces into Super Crayons. Volunteers help peel, sort, and melt the broken crayons. The liquid crayon mixture is poured into molds to form large Super Crayons in a variety of shapes which can be used by children with special needs.
Scarce will be opening the doors just for us! We can bring 5-15 volunteers. We need to provide a final headcount so they can setup the supplies for us. Please sign up here by Wednesday, February 13th. |
